In New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownoverβs third novel in her sexy, thrilling Welcome to the Point series, a womanβs search for repentance leads her to the one man from her past she canβt forget as they join forces to save their cityβand the explosive love neither can live without.Titus King has always seen his world in black and white. There is a firm right and wrong in his mind, which is why as a teenager he left behind the only family heβd ever known to make a better life for himself. Now a police detective in one of the worst cities in the country, he canβt deny his life has turned into a million different shades of gray. The new criminal element in The Point has brought vengeance and destruction right to Titusβs front door, and walking the straight and narrow seems far less important now. The difference between right and wrong is nothing compared to keeping those he loves alive. To add to his already strained moral compass, the beautiful and mysterious Reeve Black has made her way back to town. This girl might be as dangerous to Titus as the guy trying to destroy the Point but he canβt walk away because he needs herβin more ways than one.Reeve knows all about the threat trying to destroy The Point. She knows how ruthless, how vicious, and how cruel this new danger can beβ¦ and instead of running away, she wants to help. Reeve knows that she has a lot to repent for and saving the city, plus the hot cop that she hasnβt been able to forget might just be the only way she can finally find some inner peace. With an entire city poised on the brink of war, Titus and Reeve stand in the crossfireβand it will take two brave souls to fight for the ultimate love.
What a great book!! It has all the elements needed, a strong alpha male and a strong independent female who come together because they have to and take down the bad guys.Β Fantastic!
This is the third book the Welcome to the Point series and even though I didnβt read the first 2 I am glad I read this.
Titus King is a detective Β in a town that thrives on chaos and crime, he is doing everything he can to make his city safe and has no problem arresting those closest to him even his brother.
Reeve Black is one of those criminals that he is trying to protect his city from.Β Reeve was arrested a few years earlier but then turned states evidence and was placed in Witness Protection.Β She has come back to the Point because the Federal agent who is suppose to protect her is not who he says he is and the only person she trusts that is not corrupted or tainted is Titus King.
The complexity of the two main characters is what really drives this story.Β Neither is what the other thinks they are and when the come together to take down the bad guys they figure out that they are better together than apart.Β Jay does a fantastic job with the dual POVβs to allow the reader see what is going on with both these strong characters and its fantastic. Β If she had chosen just 1 POV I donβt believe this would have worked.Β The writing is fast paced so the plot keeps moving with no real slow parts in the story which I appreciate.
I also liked the secondary characters in the book β who all had their own stories prior.Β Even though I didnβt read the first 2 books I could follow along very easily and understood who they were in the scheme of this story.Β The seemed just as complex as Titus and Reeve are and I am looking forward to reading their book now.Β Also there is a build up for a 4th book that I am also looking forward to.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a real character driven story with some steam thrown in for good measure.
