Oh. My. God! I loved this book! I mean that. I read it all in one single setting because I just didn’t want to put it down. It made the drive from Riverside, Ca to Vegas SO much more interesting 😉
Virgil is a wolf shifter, and he’s on a plane back to Wolf Creek after a particularly long and hard mission. He’s tired and beat up, and all he wants to do is rest. Then, there is Eddie. He winds up in the seat next to Virgil on the plane, and there is an instant attraction between the two. Virgil feels a sudden urge to protect Eddie, and he doesn’t understand where that has come from. Eddie feels like he can trust Virgil to take care of him, even though they’ve only known each other for an hour or so. Eddie is on the run from some pretty bad men, and Virgil declares that he wasn’t going to let anything happen to him…and this is all while they’re on the plane.
Speaking of on the plane…”Flight of Fancy” has the hottest mile high club scene that I’ve ever read, and I’ve read quite a few. I have to tell you, that there was a lot of seat squirming in the car that day. I loved how it was absolutely smokin’, but it was tender as well. These men just knew that they had a connection that was deeper than just sex with a stranger.
Virgil convinces Eddie to come to Wolf Creek with him, and things really take off (Get it? Take off? An airplane?). There are some things that Eddie doesn’t know about himself that he’s shocked to discover, and they are really interesting. I have to tell you that I was completely caught off guard, and that’s such a good thing. Sometimes, even though the typical formula for these kinds of stories is great, sometimes I just need a little something different to shake me up. This story shook me up, and I loved every minute of it.
I’ve given too much away already. Just know that Virgil and Eddie are now right up there in my top five MM couples. They are just wonderful together. Their relationship is unique and loving. Their interaction with the background characters works nicely as well. When I finished, I found myself wishing that Stormy Glenn would write a follow up, and if she’s reading this I hope that she will consider it. This is the 12th installment in the “Wolf Creek” saga, and I’m kind of ashamed to admit that I’ve never read any of the other stories. I am SO going to remedy this quickly. I can’t wait to get started! Please do yourself a favor and get this book.
