HE’S TAKING A BITE OUT OF CRIME.Alex Sanchez is more than just an ordinary detective. He’s on the prowlβ€”as a vampire. Alex uses his unique gifts to police the mean streets of Chicago like a natural predator. But when he learns that local blood banks are being robbed, he’s not sure what rattles him more: the bizarre crime wave or the stunningly beautiful journalist who’s reporting it…SHE’S RISKING HER NECK FOR A STORY.Keira Turner is dedicated to her jobβ€”and determined to uncover the truth. Dangerously, out-of-this-world handsome Detective Sanchez seems oddly fascinated by the crimesβ€”and obsessed with Keira. Alex might not have a clue who’s stealing blood but he’s sure of one thing: Keira is no mere mortal. She’s descended from a long line of vampire hunters. And if they try to solve this case together, he’ll have to fight the urge to kiss her…or kill her.

The main characters Kierra and Alex were fun, cute and exciting as individuals and as a couple.Β  Kierra is a strong woman who is feisty and ready to take on anything. I loved how inquisitive she was and that Alex was the same way. Alex is sweet, honorable and a hero with a hidden past that was taboo to talk about. I kind of wish Alex was more open to sharing his past in detail with Kierra who could fall harder for the sweet man he is.

Overall, this book was fun with lots of action and romance. I’m actually looking forward to starting the series from the beginning.Β  Perhaps then I’ll be able to have more of a relationship with the other characters that had cameo appearances with Alex and Kierra throughout the book.
