Running away from his problems isnβt an option anymore. For three years Dakota Weaver has done nothing but run from a man that wants to hurt him. He changes his name and takes a job as far away from the last place he lived as he could get. The Heathβs are great people and he loves his job. It reminds him of the home he left behind all those years ago. Dakota has looked over his shoulder for far too long and has come to the end of his rope. The first time Jackson sees Dakota on his best friend Travis Heathβs farm, he wants the man. All of Jacksonβs flirting gets him nowhere with the man though. Jackson overhears a telephone conversation Dakota has with his brother and gets a whole new perspective on Dakotaβs life and what itβs really like.

Places like Home is the seventh book in the Pickleville series by April Kelley.Β While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel with ease.
Dakota Weaver has spent three years running from a stalker.Β He keeps running, never really settling down and making friends.Β Dakota seems tired of all the running but does not see any real way out.Β His current job reminds him of home and helps push him toward ending this once and for all.
Jackson fell for Dakota at first sight.Β As Jackson gets to know Dakota, he wants to help him.Β I loved that no matter how crazy and difficult it seemed to get he was determined to help Dakota.
The connection between Jackson and Dakota is intense.Β They make a great pair.Β I loved how Dakota tried to fight his feelings for Jackson for Jacksonβs safety not really his own.Β Dakota tried to protect not just himself from the stalker but all those he cares about.
I found this book well written with a unique plot. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating.Β While the ending was a little predictable, the journey the book takes the reader is gripping with several unanticipated twists and turns. Overall, this was a very charming book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.
