Tripp has one main job, and thatβs to get into the cultβs compound to save the two remaining hostages. The best way he knows how to do that is to get caught himself and thrown into one of those cells. Heβs an expert at locks and can get out of anything. Heβs not worried until the guards put him in a cell with Jacob Klein. Itβs only then that Tripp starts to panic for the little manβs survival.
Paulo Carreiro just needs to find work after retiring from the military, and he doesnβt want to ask his brother Locke for a job. When Phillip Avery calls him to come work for him, Paulo gets a weird vibe. The minute he sees the compound he knows something isnβt right. Itβs his dumb luck that the very place he gets a job his brother is investigating for kidnapping gay men and holding them hostage.

“Silent Love” is the third installment of the “Lakehouse Security” series, and I am really enjoying it.Β April Kelly does a great job, and I try to grab everything that she writes and read it as soon as it hits my Kindle.
Lakehouse Security is run by a group of brothers.Β They are hired to protect people and places.Β In book one (Just to give you a little rundown), the sheriff asks them if they could check out the compound of a religious group.Β Young men are disappearing, and it’s suspected that they’ve been taken there.Β Sure enough, they’re being held captive in a disgusting dungeon.Β It turns out that the reason for their ordeal is that they’re gay, and their familes have paid the cult to “convert” the men into being straight.Β Enter Tripp and Paolo.Β Tripp is assigned to get into the compound and rescue the men, and Paolo is also called, only he’s been called by his friend who is working FOR the cult.Β He’s to protect the grounds and the leader.Β Of course, this all seems wrong for him, and he finds out what horrible things have been going on.Β He and Tripp wind up working together to get Jacob and Elijah to safety.Β Soon, it becomes obvious that they’re both attracted to Jacob…and each other.
I liked this quick read.Β As I mentioned, it’s the third in a series, and I’ve been reading it since book one.Β The characters are great.Β The romance is sweet, and the sex is hot.Β I also like the way all of the men get along.Β They’re brothers (Paolo is kind of an an adopted brother.), so they tease and fight and all the other fun stuff that brothers do.Β What they do best, though, is get the job that they’ve been hired to do done.Β To me, they’re all heroes, even though they’d deny that if you said that to them.Β Personally, I love menage stories, and I was happy to discover that this would be one.Β I loved how gentle both Tripp and Paolo were so careful with Jacob.Β He’s been completely traumatized, and when he latches onto them, they only want to take care of him.
I totally recommend this book.Β As I mentioned, this is the third in the series.Β I suppose it could be read as a stand alone, but I really think you should start at the beginning with “Sudden Love”.Β That will give you the idea of what the continuing story will be, and you won’t be confused when you start reading about the other men because they make crossovers.Β Good stuff.
