A woman who refuses to be tied down...
Investigative reporter Rachel Dawson is always looking for her next big story. While working on a feature about BDSM, she lands a one-night, no-holds-barred pass into the exclusive sex club, Benediction. Rachel doesn't have a deviant bone in her bodyβor so she thoughtβuntil the infuriating, ex-soldier Logan Bradford convinces her to try rope bondage under his capable hands. But a steamy night turns deadly when Rachel and Logan witness a gruesome murder.
A Dom who's determined to bind her to him...
Framed for a crime they didn't commit and hunted by corrupt FBI agents, they flee. As Rachel and Logan search for evidence to clear their names, the attraction they've been fighting ignites into fiery passion. Love is the last thing Rachel wants, but night by night, as Logan binds her body, he unravels the knots around her heart. And when they uncover a shocking political conspiracy, Rachel will stop at nothing to reveal the truthβ¦and it just might kill her.
I walked into this series blind, not realizing this was the 3rd book. Β The good thing, the author gives enough back story that you didn’t need the other books to enjoy it.
Rachel is a journalist determined to write a story that is going to get her to network news. Β She decides an expose on the local BDSM club is the way to do it. Β Instead, she finds herself running from the law and trying to clear her name with the one man she shouldn’t want, Dom Logan Bradford.
I wasn’t sure I was going to like Logan and Rachel together. Β There first few moments of “page time” had me wondering if a relationship was going to be possible between them. Β But the more they were together and the defensive walls they had around themselves fell, the more I realized they were perfect for each other.
They each had their own issues to overcome due to their family lives. Β But once they understood they didn’t have to be dictated by their past, they both seemed to embrace their feelings for each other. Β Sex helped them break through those barriers and understand what they meant to each other.
Blue Blooded was an enjoyable book. Β There was lots of action and intrigue, along with some pretty hot sex. Β The characters were enjoyable and the storyline kept me entertained. Β Shelly Bell was a new author to me, but I’m definitely interested in her back list now.
AΒ sucker for a happy ending,Β Shelly BellΒ writes sensual romance often with a bit of kink andΒ action-filled erotic thrillers with high-emotional stakes for her alpha heroesΒ and kick-ass heroines. She began writing upon the insistence of her husband who dragged her to theΒ store and bought her a laptop. When sheβs not working her day job, taking careΒ of her family, or writing, youβll find her reading the latest smutty romance.
She currently writes for Avon Red Impulse, Loose Id, and Soul Mate Publishing.
