Admittedly I know nothing about MMA fighting. So it would have come as no surprise if I got a glazed look over my eyes when our hero goes into detail about moves used in the cage. Luckily that didn’t happen here.
As an introduction to Jennifer Snow, this book couldn’t have been a better choice. The characters were everything I expected them to be and then-some. Snow did not sugarcoat these two very difficult people at all. Parker is the quintessential spoiled Hollywood actress. She’s up for a role that although great and could restart her career, does not fit her in any way shape or form. What does she do? This lazy actress whose only curves came courtesy of a surgeon and probably doesn’t even remember what her real face looks like, goes to an MMA gym and expects the owner, who is training for a huge title bout defending his belt, to take time out of his own training to help her get in shape for this movie role.
Tyson was unapologetically the bad boy MMA fighter. He doesn’t want Parker in his gym distracting his fighters and he definitely doesn’t need her distracting him when he should be concentrating on his title match. So why can’t he get her out of his head?
Snow did not make it easy for either character. There was no love at first site. No moonlight and roses. These two characters were like night and day. They couldn’t have been more different from each other and Snow made sure we could see that. Even knowing this was a romance novel, I wondered how these two unlikely lovers could possibly make it work. And I must hand it to Snow, she kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end.
This was my first book my this author and I can’t wait to delve into her others.
