He has loved her since he was 9 years old but thought he had gotten over her after all these years. Boy was he wrong. When a biker turf war brings Evie back in to his life, Zane doesn’t know whether he wants to be angry with her for not waiting for him or take her to bed. One thing is for sure, he can’t walk away from her without a fight a third time. Secrets coming to light only make him more determined to make her his and keep her there this time around.
Although I have read books by Castille previously, I had not read this particular series before. I understood this was book 3 in the series going in and I took a chance that it could be read as a standalone. However, the synopsis definitely caught my attention and I just had to read it. That being said, obviously there are characters that cross books in this series. Good news is that you do not have to have read the previous two books in the series in order to read or enjoy Sinner’s Steele. The bad news? You may not have to read them, but after reading Sinner’s Steele I can guarantee you will want to.
Anyone who follows my reviews knows that I have to look at both the good and the bad in every book. After all, I received a free book in exchange for an honest review, but you won’t. Better to be forewarned than to go in blind and later regret the purchase. In this case, if I had to chose one thing that aggravated me it would have to be Evie. The woman has seen alcoholism first hand, has suffered spousal abuse, raised a child by herself and works around mechanics at a bike shop that does business with bikers… one per-centers nonetheless. All this being said, I found her annoyingly naive at times when it came to the world of bikers. Her actions at times made me cringe and wish someone would duct tape her mouth and stick her in one of the dungeons.
Thankfully she redeems herself as a strong female character just in time. Other than those brief moments when I was hoping someone would introduce Evie to the finer uses of duct tape, I absolutely loved this book. The characters were dark and gritty enough to pacify need for the big bad bikers yet these bad boys had a softer side whenever they spoke of their women and children. I have to admit I finished Sinner’s Steele and promptly purchased the previous two books.
