At the powerhouse law firm of Knight & Payne, winning comes first and ethics a distant second. Leary Michaels uses her female charms to daze opponents, and it’s always worked wellβ€”until now. On her most personal case yet, she finds herself going up against a defense attorney just as skilled, shameless, and seductive as she is.
Reeve Holloway has never met a woman as sure of her own sexuality, or as ruthless in wielding it, as Leary is. But he won’t be toyed with. What Leary starts, he’ll finishβ€”in the courtroom, the bedroom, or any-damn-place he wants. The sex is uninhibited, electrifying, and absolutely against the rules. Reeve’s job is to ruin Leary’s case…even if it destroys her in the process and costs him the woman he’s come to love.

FRICTION is a well written story filled with passion, humor and unforgettable characters.Β  Leary Michaels and Reeve Holloway are both attorneys and they meet when Reeve is defending the doctor Leary is suing.Β  Since Reeve and Leary are on opposing sides, they know they should not see each other outside of the courtroom, but from the moment they meet, they find it impossible to resist each other.

I love both Reeve and Leary.Β  Leary is a smart, feisty, take no prisoners attorney, who has never lost a case.Β  She only represents the underdog.Β  People without money, power or a voice and she is personally involved in this case and does not want to lose.Β  Reeve is charming, sexy and bossy and upfront with his feelings. Β Β He has confidence and is not intimidated by Leary’s brains, beauty and success and he keeps Leary on her toes.Β  Β These two are great together. Β In the beginning, there is a lot of verbal foreplay and they are constant trying to one up each other.

Β Reeve and Leary see things from different perspectives.Β  Leary looks at things as either black or white whereas, Reeve can see the gray areas, too.Β  They care about each other but their beliefs tear them apart.Β  Reeve and Leary have both steered clear of romantic entanglements, but what starts out as a sex with no strings relationship, changes over time.Β  How they deal with their relationship and the trial is fascinating, fun and at times painful.Β  I loved everything about this delightful story.Β  It is well paced, has great dialogue and explosive chemistry with lots of banter between the characters.
