When the biker who broke her heart rides into town, a woman must choose between passion and duty. Jackie Ashenden ups the ante in a seductive series co-written with Megan Crane, Rachael Johns, and Maisey Yates.
Leonidas β€œBlue” Delacroix might be the prodigal son of New Orleans aristocrats, but the Deacons of Bourbon Street are his real family. And with their patriarch murdered, Blue wants nothing more than to unleash hell on the motorcycle club’s enemiesβ€”even if it means taking up arms against the girl who used to be his best friend. She’s done quite a bit of growing up, and suddenly their chemistry is red-hot. But where’s the line between ruthless seduction and sweet temptation?
For Alice Day, loyalty is everything. When Blue skipped town, she had no choice but to adopt a new family: their rivals, the Graveyard Ministry. Seeing him again reawakens old feelings . . . and fiery fantasies. Alice could never forget the scent of leather on his skinβ€”just as she could never forgive the sting of his betrayal. But while the Ministry has treated her like one of their own, Blue is part of her soul. And as their liaisons hit the boiling point, Alice trusts her heart with the deadliest choice of her life.

A great continuation of the Deacons of Bourbon St series!Β  Not only do we get a great romance we are finding more out about the mystery that brought the Deacons back together.

This is the 3rd book in the Deacons of Bourbon St – the story continues with Blue and Alice (aka Red).Β  Blue comes from an affluent family in New Orleans who joined the Deacons at 18 to try to get away from his families history.Β  Alice has known Blue since she was 16 when her mother worked in Blue’s home as a maid.Β  They were best friends who talked about everything.Β  When the Deacons had to break up 10 years ago Blue left with no explanation to Alice who then had to join the rival MC gang Ministry who vowed to protector her after her father passed away.Β  Β Β When Blue has to come back to New Orleans after the Deacon’s patriarch is murdered, Alice and he reconnected and sparks fly from there.

This is the first book of Jackie Ashenden’s I have read and I really enjoyed it.Β  Especially the character of Blue – he starts off as most male characters do in MC novels, thinking of women as property, but as the book progresses he starts to change his view point specifically his relationship with Alice and that definitely has an impact on the Deacons as well as an impact on Alice.Β  Alice is strong and did everything she could to survive after the Deacons left and her father past away.Β  Jackie does a great job showing her strength and vulnerability.Β  I also really liked the dual POV’s and the third person narrative it helps to see the where our 2 main characters are coming from.

If I have anything I didn’t like it was that I would have liked to seen more of the characters we have already met, specifically Cash and Billie.Β  I would have also liked more back story for Blue and his family, I think there is more story to tell there and would have loved to have meet them as well as answer some questions for me.Β  Such as how does Blue make his money to afford to live in the Bayou for 10 years?Β  We learned about that history for Ajax and Cash but not for Blue.Β  That being said I don’t think this took anything away from our core characters nor did it for the murder mystery which we did find out more about.

All in all this is another great addition to the Deacons of Bourbon St series.Β  Each book keeps getting better and better and I am really looking forward to the last book in the series to see how this all ends.
