In the ninth romantic suspense novel in the New York Times bestselling Tracers series, author Laura Griffin brings back her elite cadre of forensic experts as they hunt down the most brutal serial killer yet.
Special Agent Tara Rushing arrives at a grisly murder scene and quickly discovers sheβs got a serial killer on her hands. The killer is meticulous, making sure to wipe up even the smallest traces of evidenceβ¦but the Delphi Center experts are on the case.
The local sheriff has a suspect all picked outβex-Marine and current security expert Liam Wolfe. Despite all her digging, Tara knows very little about Liam when she shows up at his sprawling Texas compound, which serves as headquarters for Wolfe Securities, and sheβs surprised by her intense physical reaction to him.
As she and Liam grow closer, Tara finds herself depending on his skills and expertise to help her track a killer. But when another body turns up, Tara must decide if she can trust the man whoβs quickly stealing her heart.

Whenever I want to read a suspenseful, thrilling story, Laura Griffin is my first choice.Β She knows how to write a story that keeps me guessing and on the edge of my seat and there is also some romance thrown into the mix.Β Tara Rushing is an FBI agent trying to discover the identity of a serial killer. Β Time is of the essence and she feels personally responsible as she tries to solve the case before another woman loses her life. Β Tara works in a male dominated world and is constantly pushing herself to keep up with all the alpha males she works with.Β Plus she has to deal with the good ole boys on the police department in the small town where the murders take place.Β They resent having to deal with a female FBI agent and they try to keep her out the loop every chance they get, but Tara will not let anything get her way of solving this mystery.Β She hides her fears and vulnerability behind a mask of toughness and self control.
Liam Wolfe knew one of the murdered women and is the first person Tara interviews. He is an ex- marine and runs a highly successful, off the grid security company and Tara finds herself immediately attracted to Liamβs rugged good looks.Β Liam is not intimidated by Tara and thinks she looks hot in her fatigues and boots and also finds it sexy when he discovers she works on the swat team.
Tara is constantly fighting with herself. Β Even though she is attracted to Liam, she doesnβt want any distractions and she is distrustful of men. Liam is honest, loyal and confident and he isnβt afraid of his emotions.Β He is patient as he waits for Tara to admit she has feelings for him.Β There is an immediate attraction between Liam and Tara but it takes a while for them to finally get together. Β To be honest, I wish there was more romance.Β Liam and Tara are attracted to each other and dance around their feelings for most of the story.Β Laura Griffin is a gifted writer; the story was enthralling and I loved all the plot twists.Β She knows how to write characters that are realistic, honest and believable.
