Sparks fly when a society belle and a biker with a troubled past get down and dirty in the Big Easy. Maisey Yates turns up the heat in the sizzling finale of a series co-written with Megan Crane, Rachael Johns, and Jackie Ashenden.  Micah Carpenter hates New Orleans. Hell, after ten years he no longer has much affection for the Deacons of Bourbon Street motorcycle club, either. But when the brotherhood calls, Micah answers. Joining the hunt for their mentor’s killer, he crosses paths with a Southern belle who exudes classβ€”and sex appeal. Micah knows better than to mess with ice princesses: No matter how hot things get, they never melt. And yet he can’t stop himself from offering her a taste of the wrong side of the tracks.   Sarah Delacroix understands that reputation is everything. The daughter of a prominent family rocked by scandal, she’s desperate to restore their good name. Micah’s exactly the kind of man she should be avoiding. Behind his sleek and sophisticated exterior beats the heart of a predatorβ€”and she knows it. But, like the tattoos beneath his tailored suit, his rough edges are irresistible. And all too soon Sarah finds him getting under her skin . . . and living out every one of her hottest fantasies.  Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

This the last book in the Deacon of Bourbon St series centered on the most elusive former member of the group Micah β€œPrince” Carpenter.

Micah has changed his life; 10 years ago when he as banished from New Orleans along with the other former members Micah moved to San Francisco and became a real estate mogul.Β  He comes back to New Orleans rich and doesn’t want to be there at all – but his obligation to Priest the leader of the Deacons who was murder brought him home.Β  Micah is assigned to take back a mansion that was left to the club that previous owners are very influential in the Quarter the Delarcroix family.

Sarah Delarcroix has always done what was expected of her; she is well mannered, polite and won’t do anything to hurt the Delarcroix name.Β  Her father and mother are now gone and it’s just her and her grandfather representing the Delarcroix name.Β  She is surprised to find Micah in her foyer – or should I say the Deacon’s foyer.

As the mystery of Priest’s death final starts to unfold the chemistry between Micah and Sarah starts to heat up; Micah is trying to come to terms with his past that lead him to the Deacons in the first place, who he became when he was in San Francisco and what he is doing now back in New Orleans.Β  Everything that Sarah thought was true has just been blown apart and she finds that she has family ties that draw her to the Deacons and to Micah.

In this final book of the series we find out who killed Priest and I have to say that was probably the best part of the whole book.Β  My issue with this story is that I really didn’t like Micah at all; I found him mean and arrogant to the point where he was difficult to empathize with.Β  I understand he has demons he was trying to resolve but at some point he has to be redeemable and I didn’t find that to be the case.Β  Sarah’s journey made more sense to me in the end.

What I found challenging about this series is that it was written by 4 different writers so the books were very up and down for me.
