If it lives, it can die...
For a thousand years the Ilyium druids have hunted the Dracones without mercy. At seven, in a terrifying moment, Tierney lost her world and fled to Earth, keeping her true nature secret from humans.
However, a nightmarish past is not easy to escape.
Now, years later, that truth is abundantly clear every time Tierney looks into the tormented eyes of the man she loves. Jax, losing the fight with his inner demons, battles his desires for Tierney, pushing her away–ashamed to speak of a past he cannot forget.
But the Ilyium haven’t been idle. As they resurface and come after Tierney and everyone she loves, ancient instincts are triggered in the Dracones. As they battle to overcome the legacy of their past, Tierney and her friends must learn to trust in themselves and each other if they are to survive the Ilyium’s sinister plans for them.

I’m not generally one that goes outside of vampires in my paranormal reading, but I thought I’d give this one a try. It wasn’t all I was expecting, but it wasn’t bad.
I was down with the dragon shifters but the fact that they were actually aliens who had escaped to Earth. Even better was the fact that their alien nemesis’ were on earth searching them out in an attempt to destroy them. It gave the story a little-added twist. But what kept me turning the pages on this one was our hero Jax.
Jax and his brother were raised with Tierney by her father after they escaped to earth. Childhood friends, Jax and Tierney were always together, but when Jax was forced from Tierney’s home to that of his father he came back to Tierney years later changed. He knew he had feelings for Tierney (and vice versa) but he didn’t think he was good enough for her…even if he knew that she was his soul mate.
Jax was the perfect angsty, tortured hero. I loved him when he was pushing Tierney away because I knew how much it hurt him. You knew who and what he wanted but he had a lot of emotional issues he needed to fight through in order to realize he could have what he wanted.
If you’re a lover of paranormal shifter romances, DRACONES AWAKENING is one you want to check out. For this reader, who doesn’t normally go for this kind of story, I was left intrigued and want to see what happens next..especially with the alliance with the wolves.
