Meet New York's Finest-three hot brothers sworn to protect and serve the city they love . . . and the women who've stolen their hearts.
ARRESTED BY LOVE
Vincent Moretti is one of the NYPD's top homicide detectives-and one of the most eligible bachelors in town. His family, however, thinks he should date his longtime partner, Jill-a sassy, sexy, smart-mouthed blonde who drives him absolutely crazy.
Behind the quiet authority, tough-guy demeanor, and dark aviator glasses lies a man with a big soul-and a hard body that can soften any girl's heart. After years as his coworker, Jill Henley has given up hope that anything could happen between her and Vin. Besides, loving him would break all the rules. But seeing Jill with someone else triggers feelings in Vincent he never knew he had. Now he'll have to stop playing good cop/bad cop-and find a way to convince her to be his partner for life. . .

Cuff Me is the 3rd book in the New York Finest series by Lauren Layne and this book is hands down my favorite so far.  What this book gave me that I haven’t gotten recently in my endless days and nights of reading romance was a hero that wasn’t broody and tortured.  Vin is a straight shooting guy that is loyal, trustworthy and a bit standoffish and I have wanted to know why since the series opened.  Vince is definitely my favorite Moretti brother even if he is a bit on the grumpy side.

Vincent and Jill are partners and homicide detectives for the NYPD.  They are complete opposites but clearly make excellent partners and friends.  There is clearly a pull between them yet they both choose to ignore it.  They try to mask it with witty banter and funny as hell barbs but these two just can’t hide it enough.  Their family and friends seem to know it but these two surely don’t.  Things get complicated for these two when Jill has to take a leave of absence to care for her mother.

Jill is a burst of sunshine to Vin’s rain cloud and it seems to work between them.  I just love how open and honest Jill is and she doesn’t hold back on the way she feels except with Vin. Lauren Layne gives us quite a plot twist between these two and she handles it exceptionally well and it definitely enhances the angst and friction between these two.

Watching these two fall was fantastic.  It wasn’t instant but a slow build.  It was always there but watching characters recognize it and embrace it on their own time was refreshing.  It was 6 years in the making and worth every page I read.  I adored this book and I really hope she can’t top Vin and Jill in the next book of the series.
