Though I held a claim over him, Dane Bax owned me. Possessed me. Call it whatever you wished, he had become my world. My lifeblood. Someone and something I couldn't exist without.
Ari cannot live without Dane. She lives him, breathes him, and aches for pleasures he gives her night after night. But not all is safe in Ari's world. When a group of vicious men hell-bent on ruining Dane shatters their bliss, Ari is left alone and bereft, save for her best friend Kyle, who has loved her since he first laid eyes on her.
Kyle knows that Ari's heart truly belongs to another, but he will still do everything he can to protect Ari...and hope that he can seduce her as he does. Kyle is loving, kind, desirable, and completely someone that Ari could fall for. But even as she and Dane are separated by the most dire of circumstances, she will not give up on the man who has shaken her to her very core...

I first have to say I loved the first book – and this one picks up right where the first leaves off and gets you right into the action.

Dane and Ari are together and in love – the problem is that Dane’s enemies will go after Ari to get to Dane if anyone knows they are together.  So just a few close friends and family are aware of them being together for now; in the meantime Ari and Dane know that they want to be together and Dane wants to ensure Ari’s future so the 2 get married in a secret ceremony.  Then all hell breaks lose.

The characters from the first book Burned Deep are back – Ari’s dad and Amano Dane’s trusty bodyguard and even Ari’s mom makes an appearance.  It’s really Kyle though who is consistent in Ari’s life throughout the book and will do anything to keep her safe – especially when Dane can’t.  The story ends again with another cliffhanger and the final book in this trilogy should be huge!    The writing as is in the first is fantastic – it’s romantic, suspenseful and lots of action.   Told completely from Ari’s POV I loved that because it’s really her story to tell – while part of me would love to see how Dane feels about everything they are going through for this story it doesn’t really work.  It’s really Ari’s story to tell and I love it.   This is a fast paced book and before you know it you are done waiting again for the final installment.

As you can see I really love this series and am really looking forward to the final chapter.  If you are looking for a great series to read this summer pick up the Burned Deep trilogy – you won’t be disappointed.
