Love is the greatest risk of all.
After seven days in a coma, Hannah Parker remembers nothing about the accident that landed her in the hospital--or how she ended up pregnant with Brannon's baby, the man she's loved since high school. Her body and heart have burned for him for years, and when she wakes up, he's sleeping by her bedside, anxious to keep her safe at all costs. But as Hannah struggles with her amnesia, a threat looms closer--one that could have deadly consequences if she recovers her memories. She will have to trust Brannon completely if she is to keep what haunts her at bay…and their baby safe….
Brannon McKay spent the last ten years fantasizing about Hannah. In his mind, he's explored every passionate scenario he can think of while, in real life, Brannon took their budding relationship and threw it away with both hands. Hannah doesn't remember what happened but, now that she is awake, Brannon would rather die than watch her walk away again. When Hannah and his unborn child's life is threatened, Brannon must stake claim to the woman who has held his heart captive for years…or risk disaster tearing them apart…

Book 2 starts right where book 1 left off and Brannon McKay is right in the middle of everything.Β  Brannon has always tried to protect his sisters Neve and Moira but now Hannah Parker the girl who has been in love with him since high school and who he is sleeping with now is in a coma and she might be witnessed to a death that occurred in the small town of McKay’s Treasure.Β  The other problem Brannon is facing is that he is now just realizing that his feelings may run deeper for Hannah then he wants to admit.

When Hannah wakes up she doesn’t remember what happens – in fact, she doesn’t remember anything, especially how she ended up pregnant with Brannon McKay’s baby.Β  What she does know for sure is that when Brannon is near she feels safe – especially since someone is watching her.

I don’t want to give too much away but I have to say I loved book 2 of the McKay series.Β  We get to see all the characters from book 1 while this story concentrates on Brannon and Hannah.Β  The writing is very tight in which I think it has to be with so many characters that make up McKay’s Treasure this was one of my concerns with book 1 but seems to be so much better in book 2.Β  The story is again written in dual 3rd person POV’s which works in this type of book since we see are witnessed to other characters not just Brannon and Hannah’s story.Β  I also appreciated the way the author handled Hannah’s amnesia – the core of the character was never altered and as Hannah remembers what happened to her leading up to the accident she is still that person.

I really love this series – I do recommend you start with book 1 Headed for Trouble.Β  Each book concentrates on one of the McKay siblings but you may be lost if you try to jump in with book 2.Β  The action and adventure is not over yet and I can’t wait for Moira’s book.
