If you are a fan of Shayla Black’s Wicked Lovers series then Falling in Deeper I am sure won’t disappoint.
Stone Sutter has been given a great opportunity, get Lily Taylor to testify against a mobster that destroyed her life and his jail sentence will be revoked and he will be a free man. Β The problem is that Lily has been keeping her identity a secret to everyone around her including her employers at the Dominion or at least she thinks she has, and Lily won’t give Stone the time of day. Β The other issue is that getting to know Lily has become more than just a way to get a get out of jail free card, Stone knows he wants more from her ever since he kissed her on the first day they met. Β Now he needs her to trust him while running from the people who want to kill her.
I will be honest this is the first book I have read in this series and I was a little lost in the beginning. Once the story moved to Stone and Lily I did enjoy it, the writing was fast paced and well writen. Love the dual 3rd person POVs to help with the ARC of the story. Β There is also a great twist that I didn’t see coming and the action was well done as well as a lot of faces from the other books. Β I am not sure if I would classify this as being a true standalone though, since I was lost in the beginning it was hard to really invest in these characters like I wanted to.
