This is a fun summer read that you can read by the pool. It’s a spinoff from author Denise Grover Swank’s The Wedding Pact series but you don’t need to have read the first series to appreciate Only You.
Kevin is home – after 12 years in the Marines he is looking to start a new life away from psycho women. The last girlfriend he had was a little crazy so he and his 2 friends make a no women pact – that for Kevin only lasts until he starts to spend time with his next door neighbor Holly.
Holly is just trying to make ends meet – between her ill grandmother, crazy boss and her high-strung cousin things are rough. Then a handsome marine moves in next door who makes her feel things she doesn’t want or has time for. Then to find out he is her bosses’ son just adds to the reason why she should stay away. The problem is he makes her feel things she has never felt before and she genuinely likes him. Can she stay away?
I love a good light rom-com every once in a while and this one is definitely that. There were parts that were laughed out loud funny that make this a fun book to read. Told in dual POV’s you get a lot of insight in what both Holly and Kevin are thinking and feeling which just makes it funnier. The story moves extremely fast which seemed a little off for me but that being said I am looking forward to the two other books in the series.
