My life revolved around two things. Football and my cock. And not necessarily in that order.
Being the head football coach for a top university in Texas had its ups and its downs.
The ups? Endless women to f*ck.
The downs? The politics that came with the job.
From the moment Aubrey Cain walked into my office, she turned my world upside down. Being forced to have her follow me around for a month was going to be a pain in the ass. Especially since I couldnβt keep my eyes off of her.
The best Iβd hoped to come out of this was a few nights with her in my bed. I never imagined sheβd be the game changer.
Brett Owens was my assignment.
Head football coach for a top college, bad boy reputation, short temper, and handsome good looks should have scared me off. But I was tougher than that.
From the first words out of his obnoxious, dirty-talking mouth, I knew it was going to be a long month. It wasnβt five minutes after meeting him, he hit on me. If only I had known his blue eyes would haunt my dreams and awaken a desire inside of me I never knew existed.
This was business. There was no way I would be tempted by him no matter how good looking he was or how many things he whispered in my ear.
He was only supposed to be my assignment. Not the man who threatened to destroy both my heart and my career. I would follow along with his playbook for now. But who would end up winning was anyoneβs guess.

Cocktails and Books received this book for free from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect our opinion of the book or the content of our review.
I have to admit, part of my attraction to this book was the fact that our hero, Brett, is a head football coach for a major University in Texas. While he coaches at a fictional university, the idea appealed to my Big 12 football-loving heart. I also liked the idea of our heroine being a strong, career-oriented woman.
When Aubrey and Brett are thrown together by their respective careers, sparks flew right away. Overall, I enjoyed their story. As we got to know both Brett and Aubrey, I discovered that I liked both characters. They had cute moments, great sexy time, some intrigue, and seemed to really be developing a relationship. I even enjoyed the conflicted period where they had to be away from each other before they figured out if they had a chance at happily ever after.
If I enjoyed the story so much, why is it only getting 3 stars? I almost didnβt read far enough into the book to get to the good stuff. The beginning of this book drags a little bit, it wasnβt until the 30 to 40% mark that they story really got going and became engaging.
This is a book worth reading, but be prepared that it definitely gets better as you go along.
