Internationally bestselling author Chantal Fernando brings fans another sexy motorcycle novella in the Wind Dragons MC series, as rival club president Talon has to decide what's more dangerous: facing down the WDMC, or losing his heart to a woman under their protection.
Talon has a complicated relationship with the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club. He’s the president of their rival club, the Wild Men, but he’s also related to one of their members—who hates him. He could handle that, but he’s also got problems in his own club; someone is leaking information and disrupting their business, but Talon can’t find the mole. So the last thing he needs is even more complication in the form of a beautiful single mother who’s bolder than half the bikers on his squad. But he can't take his eyes—or his hands—off her...
Tia’s always been a little reckless, up for a good time wherever she found it, but she’s also a great mom to her young son. So even though she thinks Talon is basically sex on a stick, when she realizes she wants to be more to him than just a club groupie, she has to take things a bit slow. Plus, a momentary attraction, no matter how smoking hot, isn’t worth risking her son’s happiness in any way. Is there any chance that Talon might be up for a more permanent arrangement? Or has Tia leapt before looking once again?

Full disclosure – This is the first book I’ve read in this series, and coming in on the sixth book might slant my review some. I just wanted to throw that out there, so you know where I’m coming from.

This read was good. I liked the story, I liked the plot and the characters seemed interesting but based on this novella alone, I don’t have a huge desire to read the rest of the series.

There wasn’t a whole lot to it. The romance was very cut and dry and basically glossed over. Tia is a single mom who is bff’s with Bailey, old lady to Rake, part of the Wind Dragon MC crew. By association, Tia is important to the Wind Dragon’s, so when Talon, president of the Wild Men MC, a one time rival of the Wind Dragon MC, and still on shaky ground with their crew, takes interest in her, it causes some concern. That part of the plot is a minor tension builder throughout the story as they have to be careful who they let see them together. I was disappointed that wasn’t explored more. But what really let me down with this book was, I could see the potential for a truly grand romance between Talon and Tia. All the building blocks were there. Tia is willful, strong, and fiercely independent. She’s a single mom who has to be careful with her life for her son’s sake. She’s respected and has friends. Talon is strong, sexy, intelligent and good. He’s trying to take his MC on a better path with less in-house fighting and bring them to a more stable club life. But he’s got a traitor in his house and there has already been one murder.

There was so much opportunity for danger, excitement and mystery. And the groundwork was laid for a great push-pull romance between Tia and Talon, but this book just fell flat for me. The characters seemed really underdeveloped. Maybe there’s more character development in previous installments. I don’t know. But even so, the romance between Talon and Tia was almost nonexistent and what was there, felt rushed and completely glossed over.

This is an okay novella but I think it could have been turned into a full length novel and been amazing. The writing was done well and as I said, there was a lot of potential. It was a good, short read that kept me reading and I think for anyone that’s a fan of the series, it might be a nice filler until the next book. But for me, it was kind of disappointing.
