In the latest novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Love After All and the Play-By-Play novels, running from the past isn’t nearly as satisfying as facing the future…
Brady Conners is hardly the settling type, but when tragedy strikes in his family, he has no choice but to return home to Hope, Oklahoma. Setting up shop to work on custom motorcycles and pass the time, Brady has no intention of letting anyone get close—until he meets Megan.
Pastry shop owner Megan Lee is drawn to quiet, brooding Brady. Their connection is undeniable, and it quickly develops from physical attraction into something much stronger. But with Brady putting up barriers, Megan is afraid to truly open her heart—unless she can convince him to let go of the past…

Brady Conners is content with working and saving money up to buy his own shop. He is a loner and he prefers it that way. He came home after his brother died and he is hurt and just trying to make it through each day. Megan Lee is an outgoing, hardworking and dedicated business owner. She loves her friends and will do anything for them. Her business is doing great and all her friends are happily married or in a relationship with a baby already or one on the way. She is attracted to Brady and decides to go after what she wants. Brady can’t stay away from Megan even though he tries to at first.
When Brady unexpectedly becomes a new dog owner his life begins to change. Although he is still struggling with his brother’s death. He begins to enjoy life and Megan. Megan loves her bakery and with Brady in her life she feels like she has it all. He makes new friends and is happy. Yet when he realizes how much Megan means to him he can’t handle it. I enjoyed reading this book it was a tearjerker and had a heartwarming vibe that makes you feel good.
