The author of Stealing His Thunder, Sparrow Beckett puts the pedal to the metal in their second Masters of Adrenaline novel.  Never one to back down from a dare, Luke Larson crashes an upscale house party to steal a car. Narrowly avoiding capture by security, Luke speeds offβ€”only to discover he’s accidentally kidnapped a hot billionaire passed out drunk in the back seat.   Having inherited a fortune upon her father’s death, Ophelia Covington’s life is spinning out of control. Of all the possible consequences of partying, she never thought kidnapping was likely. When she learns her tough and sexy abductor didn’t mean to take her at all, she’s strangely disappointed.   Ophelia’s irresistible curves and submissive nature fuels Luke’s hunger. But when old rivals target his crew, will Ophelia become collateral damage?   Includes a preview of the third Masters of Adrenaline novel.

A fun read with two very likable characters.

Luke Larson is at the wrong place at the wrong time, stealing a high-end SUV from an upscale party in Las Vegas should have been easy, that was until he noticed he had accidently kidnapped the cars owner passed out in the backseat. Β Now on a road trip with the beautiful hotel heiress, the last thing Luke expects to find someone who shares his love of kinky sex, but this can’t work their lives are just too different, or are they?

Ophelia Covington is trying to escape, with her father’s passing he left her his billion dollar hotel empire, something she is not ready for. Β After spending 2 months drowning her life she is needing to figure out if this is the life she really wants. Β When she thinks she is being kidnapped by the extremely sexy Luke Larson, she is disappointed that he has no idea who she is. Β When he agrees on going on this road tripΒ with her to her father’s favorite hotel she discovers things about herself that Luke is more than willing to teach her. Β Things she loves and craves more of, but with his criminal background and her life in the spotlight they can’tΒ make this work once they get back to the real world, or can they?

I first have to say I really liked Ophelia and Luke – they are fun characters who have a lot of chemistry. Β The road tripΒ was well written and a lot of fun, especially the BDSM scenes. Β Ms. Sparrow does a great job writing for her main characters. Β Once they got back to Las Vegas things seemed rushed for me. Β The reason they decided not to be together never felt like got resolved for me and the scenes didn’tΒ read true for as they did during the first 1/3rd of the book. Β  Β There are cameos from Luke’s family Fox and Addison and Atlas which was fun, and there is some carryover story line from the first book which was a nice touch as well. Β I just wish the story was as strong at the end of the book as it was at the beginning.
