About The Truth About Lennon:
Lennon Barrick-St. James is making headlines as New York City’s hottest new socialite. Only she isn’t new at all. One well-intentioned night gone wrong has landed the daughter of the vice presidential candidate Christopher St. James on the front pages of every newspaper and magazine in the country.
Forced by her father to stay out of the limelight, Lennon flees to the quiet town of Haven, Texas, where she vows to lie low and avoid men. Well, except for the sexy biker she just ran off the road–she definitely won’t be avoiding him.
Noah Cunningham
Already has a girl in his life, and he sure as hell doesn’t need another. Especially the beautiful and sinfully sweet angel that just descended upon the quiet little town he calls home.
The only problem is that the more time he spends with Lennon, the more he wants to be with her. And that’s just not going to work for Noah. He’s already been burned once and he’s not so sure he’s ready to go down that road again.
Noah has spent the last five years putting his life back together after secrets and lies ripped it apart. So what will happen when he learns the Truth about Lennon.

Exclusive Excerpt:
βYes, Iβm looking for Noah Cunningham. He was brought in by ambulance a little while ago.β
The woman looks me over and she smiles, but it isnβt as friendly as it should be. βAre you family?β
βUmβ¦β I shake my head. βNo.β Her smile fades, and I quickly improvise because I know that look. If Iβm not family, she wonβt let me back there to see him. βNot yet, at least,β I say, mustering up as much conviction as I can. βIβm his fiancΓ©e.β
Oh shit. I canβt believe I just said that.
Too late now.
That makes her frown. βNoah doesnβt have a fiancΓ©e.β
βHow do you know?β
Narrowing her eyes, the woman stands behind her desk. βI grew up with Noah. Our brothers are friends. I think Iβd know if he was dating, let alone engaged,β she saysβa bit too defensively, if you ask me.
Does this woman have a thing for Noah? A hint of jealousy sparks in my veins, surprising me.
βI assure you he does,β I say with just as much bite, because as it turns out, I have a thing for him too.
The bitch crosses her arms over her chest. βWhereβs your ring?β
βI didnβt put it on this morning. What are you, the engagement police?β Not the cleverest thing to say, I know, but itβs the best I could come up with.
Lips pressed firmly together, the woman glares. If looks could kill Iβd be dead, buried, and forgotten about. I glance at the womanβs name tag before meeting her death stare head on.
βNow I get it,β I say, snapping my fingers as though I shouldβve recognized her sooner. βYouβre Penny.β
Pennyβs scowl turns into more of a frown.
βNoah told me all about you.β
As expected, this perks her up. βHe did?β She quickly realizes her mistake. βI mean, of course he did.β
βThere you are, Lennon!β
I turn to see Mikey, the guy from the ambulance, walking toward us. If the look on his face is any indication, he caught someβif not allβof my little white lie.
Leaning against the desk, he smiles warmly at the woman. βHow are ya, Penny?β
Itβs amazing how her demeanor changes in the presence of a man. βHey, Mikey. Iβm good. Just been workinβ a lot, ya know?β
Mikey nods, and Penny glances at me somewhat timidly. βThis woman is trying to tell me sheβs engaged to Noah.β
βWaitβ¦β Mikey waves a finger between me and Penny. βYou mean you didnβt know about Lennon? Brad didnβt tell you?β
Penny shakes her head and opens her mouth to respond, but Mikey cuts her off with a fake disappointed sigh.
βI guess Iβm not really surprised,β he says. βHe hasnβt been around much lately, what with his new job and all. Howβs that going for him, anyway?β
βGood,β she says, looking back toward me, clearly wanting to redirect the conversation.
βGood.β Mikey nods. βThatβs good. Well,β he says, clapping a hand on the desk, βIβll take Lennon down to Noahβs room before I go, if itβs all right with you.β
Plopping down in her seat, Penny huffs. βFine.β
With a hand pressed to my back, Mikey guides me down the hall.
βThank you,β I whisper when Iβm certain weβre out of earshot.
βAre you kidding me? Noah should be thanking you. Heβs been turning down Penny since the third grade, and now maybe sheβll get off of his back for good.β
βWell, thenβ¦β I puff out my chest. βIβm glad I was able to help. But Iβll be honest; I thought for sure I lied to the wrong person. I was really worried there for a second.β
βThis is a small town, Lennon. The kind where everybody knows everybody, everybody thinks they know everything, and you canβt piss without it ending up in the paper or on Facebook. Itβll do you good to remember that.β
βDoes that meanββ
βYup.β He nods before I even finish. βPenny has probably already posted about it, tweeted it, Snapchatted it, and found a way to put it up on Instagram.β
βGreat.β I stare at the hospital door. βNow Noahβs really going to hate me, and we donβt even know each other.β
βNah. Noahβs pretty laid back.β
I look up at him, cocking a brow.
βOkay, heβs uptight, but heβll see the humor in it,β he says, opening the door before quietly adding, βI think.β
A man in a long, white coat is standing in the room, waving his hands as he talks to Noah, who is stretched out on the bed, his jeans and T-shirt now replaced by a green hospital gown. Noahβs eyes widen when he notices me walking into the room behind Mikey.
βWhat is she doing here?β he says, cutting off the doctor.
βSheβs your fiancΓ©e; where else would she be?β
We all turn toward the snide voice. Penny. Go figure, she mustβve followed us. She flits around the room. Doing what? No clue. Probably just being nosy.
βFiancΓ©e?β Noah looks from Penny to Mikey and narrows his eyes when they land on me.
Iβm going to go straight to hell.
βItβs okay,β I soothe, sitting on the bed next to him. Smiling down, I brush his hair off of his forehead. Itβs soft, and I let my fingers linger longer than necessary as I imagine what it would be like to belong to this manβto be able to touch him whenever I wanted, run my fingers through his shaggy hair, kiss him. The thoughts in my mind have no business being there, but I canβt help but wish for every single one.
Feeling the weight of silence, I clear my throat. βI told her.β I glance at Penny, who is frowning. βAnd sheβs not going to say anything, are you, Penny? Because we havenβt officially announced it yet.β
Her eyes widen, guilt splattered across her face. βUh…β
βIβm so lost,β Noah mumbles, running a hand over his ruggedly handsome face. βMaybe I did hit my head, doc.β
βIβm sorry, I missed your name.β The young doctor sticks out his hand, which I quickly accept.
βLennon.β
He smiles. βItβs nice to meet you, Lennon. My name is Dr. Ward, and I took care of your fiancΓ© when he came in. In fact,β he says, looking at Noah, βI was just telling him what will need to be done once he gets home.β
βYes.β I turn toward the doctor, giving him my full attention like any dutiful fiancΓ©e would. βPlease, fill me in.β
βYou donβt have to fill her in,β Noah says, trying to nudge me off the bed. βSheβs notββ
βShush.β Pressing a finger against his mouth, I frown. So does Noah. βHe absolutely will fill me in. Who else is going to take care of you?β
He swats my hand away. βI donβt need anyone to take care of me.β
βThatβs not entirely true,β Dr. Ward interjects.
βFine.β Noah rolls his eyes. βIβll have my mother come help me.β
βSheβs on vacation,β Mikey offers, holding his hands up in surrender when Noah shoots him a nasty glare.
βNoah, this is good. Youβll need some assistance for a few days, someone to help you get around the house so you can stay off your ankle,β Dr. Ward says.
βIβm good, doc, really.β
He nudges me again, but I just wrap his hand in mine and kiss his knuckles adoringly. Noah furrows his brow and presses his lips together. His gaze on me is so powerful, I swear the man can hold a conversation with just his eyes.
What the fuck are you up to?
I squint at him, letting him know Iβve got the wheel right now. Play along or Iβll run you off the road again.
Noah blows out a long, frustrated breath, and I know Iβve won him over.
βAnyway.β The doctor clears his throat. βNoah sprained his ankle during the accident. Nothing is broken, but he did a number on it. He also has a laceration on his leg that we cleaned up. It didnβt need stitches, but Iβd like for him to keep an eye on it, because we donβt want it to get infected. Iβll have Penny print out the instructions and give them to you.β
I nod, and when Dr. Ward isnβt looking, Penny rolls her eyes.
βI would like it if you could stay off your foot for a couple of days,β he says to Noah. βYour ankle needs rest and ice.β
βRest and Ice. Got it.β I turn to Noah. βIβll just plan on staying with you for the next couple of days.β
βHeβs your fiancΓ©e,β Penny exclaims. βDonβt you live with him?β
βNo.β I might not be southern, but I do my best to tack on some southern belle charm. I press a hand to my chest, feigning disbelief. βDaddy would not approve of that. No shackinβ up until weβre married. Right, sweetie?β
βShackinβ up?β Noah says.
βWhatever.β Penny walks out, followed by the doctor, and Mikey claps his hands together.
βWell, folks, Iβve gotta get going.β He walks toward me and squeezes my shoulder. βLennon, Iβll swing by Noahβs tonight and make sure you two donβt need anything.β
βWait. What?β Noah pulls his hand from mine and scowls up at Mikey. βSheβs not really coming home with me.β
βYes, she is.β Mikey looks to me for confirmation, and I nod. βHow else would you get home? You donβt have your bike, and your parents are out of town.β
βYou,β Noah says. βYou can take me home.β
βSorry, man. Canβt. Gotta finish my shift. Plus, thereβs no way in hell Iβm taking care of your ass.β
βBut youβre a fucking paramedic.β
Mikey shrugs. βSo? I do that shit all day long. I donβt want to do it when Iβm off. Plus, Lennon here has already volunteered to take care of your gimp ass.β
βThis is a fucking joke.β Noah clenches his hands against the sheet. βShe caused all of this,β he says, waving toward his ankle. βIf it wasnβt for her, I wouldnβt even be here.β
βAnd thatβs exactly why I want you to let me help,β I plead. βI feel horrible. I promise Iβll take really good care of you, and I wonβt get in your way at all. And I wonβt really move in for the next few days; Iβll just come by and make sure you donβt need anything, maybe cook dinner for you.β
This isnβt exactly how Iβd planned to spend my first few days in Heaven, but I like the idea of taking care of someone. Particularly this someone.
βYou donβt even know me,β he argues.
I stick my hand out to shake his, and all he does is scowl. Mikey shoves an elbow into his arm and finally, reluctantly, Noah shakes my hand.
Mikey smiles. βNoah, meet Lennon, your fiancΓ©e.β
βFuck.β Noah groans, dropping his head back on the pillow, and Mikey shoots me a wink.
