The New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Marked Men books continues her delightfully sexy Saints of Denver series.
Hudson Wheeler is a nice guy. Everyone knows it, including his fiancée who left him with a canceled wedding and a baby on the way. He’s tired of finishing last and is ready to start living in the moment with nights soaked in whiskey, fast cars, and even faster girls. He’s set to start living on the edge, but when he meets Poppy Cruz, her sad eyes in the most gorgeous face he’s ever seen hook him in right away. Wheeler can see Poppy’s pain and all he wants to do is take care of her and make her smile, whatever it takes.
Poppy can’t remember a time when she didn’t see strangers as the enemy. After a lifetime of being hurt from the men who swore to protect her, Poppy’s determined to keep herself safe by keeping everyone else at arm’s length. Wheeler’s sexy grin and rough hands from hours restoring classic cars shouldn’t captivate her, but every time she’s with him, she can’t help being pulled closer to him. Though she’s terrified to trust again, Poppy soon realizes it might hurt even more to shut Wheeler out—and the intense feelings pulsing through her are making it near impossible to resist him.
The only thing Poppy is sure of is that her heart is in need of some serious repair, and the more time she spends with Wheeler, the more she’s convinced he’s the only man with the tools to fix it.

For those of you who know me, Jay Crownover is one of my favorite authors and she really hasn’t disappointed me yet. Salvaged is Hudson Wheeler and Poppy Cruz’s story. We have seen them throughout the Saints of Denver series and I don’t know if there was ever two people that deserved a happy ending more than these two. I couldn’t wait to see how Jay worked her magic and made these two fall for each other.
Poppy Cruz has been through the wringer. She was almost killed by an abusive husband and lived her young life with an abusive father. She hasn’t had the best track record with men and she tends to stay away from them even after a ton of therapy and her sister/friends gently pushing her to live again. Poppy doesn’t want to continue to fade in the background and she makes a decision to try to get to know Hudson Wheeler. He makes her feel comfortable and safe and she knows it is something worth pursuing.
Unfortunately, Hudson Wheeler hasn’t had the best luck either. His fiancee left him and then told him she is pregnant with his child. His carefully constructed life is falling around and all he has ever wanted was a stable, loving home. His childhood wasn’t idyllic either and he has worked his tail off the make his life a good one. He is attracted to Poppy and feels protective of her but isn’t sure this she is something that he can take on with all the chaos in his life.
These two are drawn to each other for good reasons. They need each other for different reasons and together they are a stronger. Jay did an amazing job of not rushing this relationship along. She also doesn’t pave a sugar coated road for these two. She shows all the pitfalls along the way and I enjoy watching them navigate all of these together. These two are not afraid to stay and work hard for their relationship.
Everyone of us deserve a Hudson or a Poppy. These two are just downright good people that didn’t have the best start in life but are slowly finding their way in life. Together, their life is even sweeter and was a delight to read.

About Jay Crownover:
Jay Crownover is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Marked Men, The Point, and the Saints of Denver series. Like her characters, she is a big fan of tattoos. She loves music and wishes she could be a rock star, but since she has no aptitude for singing or instrument playing, she’ll settle for writing stories with interesting characters that make the reader feel something. She lives in Colorado with her dogs.
