I first have to save I absolutely love Christina Lauren and I am happy to say the Roomies didnt disappoint.
Holland Bakker is a little lost; working on her uncles musical on Broadway at 25 this is not where she expected her life to end up. So she has needed to find happiness in the most unlikely places and in the case its the sidewalk guitarist who plays on the subway platform weekly. She is so enthralled with the man and the music she has even made up a name for him and goes out of her way to just hear him play. When her uncle needs a new lead musician for his musical Holland knows her mystery man is perfect – but there is one catch he is in the country illegally and has no way of staying since his Visa expired. That is until Holland offers to marry him – then everything changes.
Luke McLoughlin loves playing and works gigs anyway he can – even on the subway. When he saves the beautiful girl she keeps popping up in his life and then helps him get his dream job. If only he could take it but in fear of being shipped back to Ireland he has to turn it down; that is until she offers the one thing he least expected – to marry her to be able to stay in the country.
Roomies is a fun, witty story about going after your heart’s desire in ways you never imaged. Luke and Holland have almost instant chemistry and its fun to be able to follow their journey with the dual POVs. Of course, there is conflict and great character arcs for both Luke and Holland that I loved. The writing is top notched something we expect from this writing duo.
All in all, I highly recommend Roomies – you won’t be disappointed.
