Fiery, free-loving Amber Fields has just discovered she’s the daughter of a 90s rock legend. The bright lights of New York City are a world away from her life on a hippie commune in Maine, but Amber is determined to get answers—and give her absent father a piece of her mind.
When she tracks down her father’s band in Manhattan, answers seem hard to come by. Stories she was told as a child don’t add up. And then there’s the band’s replacement lead guitarist—the troubled, sexy, intriguing Ty Stanz—who is anything but welcoming. He just wants to play music, and to him, Amber’s an opinionated, unwanted distraction. He’s not into commitment and she’s not into the music, but they’re both tied to the band and soon sparks begin to fly.
The more time they spend together, the hotter things get. They’re bound by music—could they also be bound by love?

I became a fan of Elle Casey when I read Shine Not Burn. When I saw she had a new book out, I thought I would give it try. AMBER is the first book in her new series Red Hot Love. This is an entertaining, fun, light hearted story but to be honest, at times, I thought it was silly and unrealistic.
Amber and her two best friends find out at the age of twenty four they are the daughters of famous rock stars. The girls were raised together by their mothers on a farm and have lived a sheltered life. Amber decides to brave New York City to meet the band and confront her father and give him a piece of her mind for abandoning her. But nothing is as it seems and Amber has to try to piece together the truth. Against her better judgment, she starts to like the band members. Especially Ty, the youngest and newest member of the band.
Ty has demons and lots of baggage and Amber wants to help him. Ty joins the band when one of the band members dies and the fans still haven’t accepted him. He is living his dream. Playing with a bad he loves and achieving fame but he feels something is missing.
Amber is a combination of sweet, naive and bold and brave. She doesn’t let the fact that the band members are rich, successful rock stars intimidate her. Amber yearns for a life in the city but feels guilty leaving her family and especially, the two best friends she grew up with. She realizes being a famous rock star isn’t as easy as it seems. Yes they have money and fame, but along with it, they give up their freedom.
