The last thing she needs is attitude from the townβs sheriff, the most perfectly attractive and ruggedly handsome man sheβs ever laid eyes onβand a complete jerk.
Jess knows all about women like Gigi. Beautiful. Sexy. Scheming. Sheβs stolen his sanctuary, the farmhouse that should have been his. But along with a face full of freckles, sheβs got a sharp wit and a backbone of steelβsomething he doesnβt discover until after making a complete fool of himself. If he can earn back her trust and win her heart, he might just find the home heβs always needed.

I am always excited to discover a new author and Devon Perry is now on my favorite authors list. After reading The Coppersmith Farmhouse, I want to read all of the other books in the Jamison Valley series. This is a beautifully written story with strong, unforgettable characters. Β Jess, the hero is an alpha male who always expects to get his way, and usually does. He is handsome and women fall all over him.
Gigi, the heroine is feisty and hardworking and has learned not to trust easily. She is a nurse and has just moved to Prescott, Montana with her four year old daughter, Rowen. Gigi has had a tough time and decides to move to the small town and start over and hopes her luck will change from bad to good.
Jess is the town sheriff and I loved everything about him. Β He is a sexy, protective alpha male with strong opinions. Jess grew up taking care of his mom. Β He is sweet, good at reading people, takes care of those close to him and always needs to be in charge. Jess is steady and honest and up front with Gigi about his feeling and he is wonderful with her daughter, Rowen.
Jess and Gigi have a lot of chemistry. Β When they first meet, things do not go well but as time goes on, they find it hard to fight their attraction. Although Gigi is often frustrated with Jessβs dictatorial ways, she finds herself giving in to him. Jess is enthralled with Gigi. Yet, Gigi is constantly questioning Jessβs Β motives for being with her because Gigi doesnβt have a lot of confidence when it comes to men. I loved the story and these two characters as they struggle to discover each other and start a relationship. There are alternating POVs, so we know what each of them are thinking. Perfection.
