One of the things that I have appreciated most recently is the idea that romance doesnβt stop when characters turn 40. Ms. Dunbar has become an expert in writing these characters and making their stories relatable. I think one of the things that appeals to me most about this series of books is that the issues Ms. Dunbarβs characters bring to the table arenβt extreme, they are the things that anyone who has reached a certain age might have dealt with or can see themselves dealing with.
Restored Dreams is a connected stand alone. Lily and Brut are characters that we initially met in Midlife Crisis and we now get to see not only their history, but their second chance. These are characters that I truly liked. Lily is a female lead that I would love to have as a friend; she is a truly good person and at the same time she makes me a little sad for her. She is a character that you just know deserves a happily ever after. Brut is rougher around the edges, but still a genuinely good guy.
Ms. Dunbar crafts a well written and touching story that captures the heart ache of youthful first love, the joy of reconnection, the struggle to communicate, and the almost repeat of history. Some of the issues that Lily and Brut face easily translate into almost any relationship β especially the issues around communication. I donβt know if itβs reflective of where I am age wise, I the Silver Fox books have served dual purposes. Not only are they the entertaining escape reading provides, but I also find them reflective and am looking forward to more.

Coca-Cola, and romance. Her reading journey began with a deep love of fairy
tales, medieval knights, Regency debauchery, and alpha males. She loves a deep
belly laugh and a strong hug. Occasionally, she has the energy of a Jack
Russell terrier. Accusedβyes, thatβs the correct wordβof having an overactive
imagination, to her benefit, such an imagination works well. Author of over two
dozen novels, sheβs created sweet, small town worlds; rock star mayhem; MMA
chaos; sexy rom-coms for the over 40; and intrigue on an island of redemption.
In addition, she is earning a title as the βmyth and legend ladyβ for her
modernizations of mythology as elda lore. Her other duties in life include
mother to four children and wife to the one and only.
