This was a fun read with a mini May/December romance. Mack and Frannie are characters that we have seen in a previous series and they kick off the action for this series centered around the Coverleigh Farm.
I fell a little bit in love with single Dad Mack and we watched him try to be all things to everyone and worry about how being with him would impact Frannie. Mack is such a well written character, that his stress and worries almost radiated out of my kindle. Β Frannie was an interesting female lead to get to know, as she definitely seemed sheltered, but was so much stronger than anyone expected.Β At first, I wasnβt sure she would be a good fit for Mack, but seeing them together showed that her softness, not to be confused with weakness, offset him perfectly.
Add in steamy sexy times, scene stealing kids, and over protective mothers for the basis of a great read. One of the things I appreciated about the plot was while Ms Harlow hinted at the complication of Frannie being the bossβ daughter, the core conflict had more to do with Mack and his fears.
I am looking forward to seeing more of Mack, Frannie, and the girls as we get to know the other Sawyer sisters.
βSexy, heartfelt–did I mention sexy? With the perfect touch of the forbidden, Melanie Harlow has outdone herself with single dad Mack and Frannieβs story!β

Irresistible, an all-new fun and swoony standalone from USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow, is available now!
Iβm a full-time single dad to three daughters and CFO at Cloverleigh Farms. I donβt have time to fall in loveβIβm too busy trying to run a business, keep the red socks out of the white laundry, and get the damn pillowcases on without owing a dollar to the swear jar.
Sure, Frannie Sawyer is beautiful and sweet, but sheβs twenty-seven, the bossβs daughter, and my new part-time nannyβwhich means sheβs completely off-limits. Itβs bad enough I canβt stop fantasizing about her, what kind of jerk would I be if I acted on the impulse to kiss her?
(Exactly the kind of jerk youβre thinking.)
Actually, Iβm worse than thatβbecause I didnβt stop with a kiss, and now I canβt stay away. She makes me feel like myself again. She reminds me what itβs like to want something just for me. Sheβs everything I ever needed, but nothing I ever imagined.
Iβm a former Marine. I should have had the strength to resist her from the start.
But I didnβt. And now I have to choose between the life I want and the life she deserves.
Even if it means giving her up.

Excerpt:
I was holding my breath.
I wasnβt even sure why, but it was something about the way Mack was looking at me. And the tension in his bodyβthe taut muscles in his neck. The grip of his fingers on the edge of the counter. The set of his jaw. It gave the impression of restraint. Like he was holding himself back.
Something unfamiliar hummed in the air between us. I could feel itβhe wanted me the way I wanted him.
No wonder I couldnβt breathe.
Then he cleared his throat and turned away from me, cutting off the current. βSure. Everybody needs to make mistakes now and then.β
Iβd forgotten Iβd even asked the question.
He turned the sink on, rinsed his dishes, and placed them in the dishwasher. I stood there staring at his muscular back, at the width of his shoulders, at the snug fit of his jeans on his butt. If I were his and he were mine, Iβd go over and wrap my arms around his waist, press my cheek to his back. Then heβd turn around, winding his arms around me. Heβd lower his lips to mine, andβ
βI should get you home,β he said, interrupting my fantasy. βWant to grab your coat?β
βSure.β But I didnβt really want to leave. I wanted to stay in this warm, chaotic house with him and the girls. Pretend I belonged here. Pretend I belonged to him.
