I think this might be one of my favorite books by Ms Kayla! Boss I Love to Hate is a slow burn office romance with a bit of frenemies to lovers thrown into the mix. There is just a smidge of heavy, but mostly this is a fun and entertaining read.
Sonia and Brad are both interesting characters that I wanted to spend time with. I found myself sympathetic to Sonia and wanting to shake her at the same time when it came to how she perceived herself and the end of her last relationship. It was almost too easy to put my (younger) self in her shoes. Brad was a character that had more layers than he initially appeared to and I honestly grew to like him – and root for him- as the story went on.Β I liked that he wasnβt perfect, but that he wanted to be better. The interactions between these two were funny and I enjoyed watching their blinders for each other come off. There was a sense of inevitable for their relationship, almost like they just needed the right situation to see the other persons value.
One of the things I appreciated about Boss I Love to Hate was the fact that the conflict wasnβt one big βthingβ it was several smaller, realistic issues sprinkled through the story. Yes, there was one larger event that forced decisions, but it was truly organic to the story.
The secondary cast is smallish in terms of characters that make an impact, most specifically Bradβs bothers. There was a bit of a tease that Mason might have a story coming and from what I saw here, it would be fun to see what happens for him.
“One of the best office/enemies to lover books Iβve read.
Brad and Sonia were so cute! I loved their banter, I loved the way they were with their families. I loved everything about this book. Addictive, funny and so amazing!” – Early Reviewer

“Perfectly written, unique, wonderfulness. I will be rereading this over and over again. One of my top ten books ever! Mia Kayla knocked this one out of the park, she left me with more feelings than I knew what to do with. The ultimate book hangover ( I mean hangover like I couldn’t get over it or stop thinking about it), nothing could compare. I had a really hard time reading anything else after this book because it was just that good!” – Early Reviewer
