Release Blitz: Well Suited by Staci Hart

In this Forth installment of the Red Lipstick Coalition, we finally get to spend time with Katherine. She is a character that has been lurking in the background of the three other books. We’ve seen her somewhat odd, quirking, and stand-offish behavior; here we get to know the gentler and more caring person underneath the prickles. Katherine has met her match in Theo, another previous secondary character, whose brother fell in love with one of Katherine’s friends.

The premise of this book was fun. Katherine and Theo were the “odd” people out and therefore paired up for a group outing. Sparks flew, feelings happened, and consequences brought these two unlikely people back together even though one of them was fighting it.

I genuinely liked Katherine and Theo together. I appreciated how he softened her rough edges, but didn’t try to change her. They were a good fit and even when they didn’t know how to work together, they made the effort to figure things out.

Of the four Red Lipstick books, this is probably the most “standalone.” Yes, the other three girls and their significant others make appearances, but Katherine is a solitary enough personality that the group dynamic doesn’t seem to be as prevalent as in the other books. If you have been following the girls, this well written edition is a series conclusion that you will enjoy. There are glimpses of the other girls and their lives now. If you are new to Ms. Hart, this would be a good place to start as Katherine and Theo’s story is independent. I am looking to seeing what Ms. Hart has in store for us next.

Chemistry is my love language.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey.
