This is Forever continues the second “generation” of Ms Madison’s This is/Something So series, this time with “baby” of the Stone family, Justin. After spending time with the rest of the group, I wasn’t sure Ms Madison could top the swoon worthy heroes we’ve met in the past, but Justin is a chip off the old block and definitely learned from his father, brother, and brothers – in – law!
I enjoyed getting to know grown-up Justin here and loved that he met his leading lady, Caroline, while making efforts to make the world around him a little better. One of the characteristics I liked most about Justin was that he looked past Caroline’s situation and saw the people that she and Dylan were and knew they were special, even when life was trying to keep them down.
Caroline was a likeable character as well. One of my favorite things about her was that while she was proud and didn’t want handouts, she wasn’t too proud to let Justin give her and Dylan a hand up when they needed it.
Justin, Caroline, and Dylan together were truly fun to watch and it became even more fun once the rest of the Stone family entered the picture. Well written with a flair that is unique to Ms. Madison, this is a great book to wrap up the adventures of the younger Stones. This is technically a stand-alone, but the significant role that Justin’s siblings take in the secondary cast means that reading the This is series (at least) adds significant enjoyment to the book.
