I enjoyed this story. I caught the premise fairly quickly, but I was intrigued with how the author was going to lay the storyline out for Vera. I enjoyed her sparring with Jaren and Trey, showing how much spirit had in her that was stifled while being hidden away. Eithan’s character took a bit of a turn I wasn’t expecting, but it will make the next book more exciting as we see how this 180 plays out with Vera.
