If you have a ghost problem, who you gonna call?
Not me. Seriously.
Been there, done that, and the short time I worked as a professional medium was nothing like what you see on TV. Things are way too heavy when youβre talking to actual ghosts, and Iβm pretty sure Iβm the first and only person to be fired from what turned out to be a string of con-artists and fake psychics. Thatβs life, and after twenty-four years of being able to see and hear spirits, Iβve grown used to it.
But when demonic bounty hunters start coming after me, I realize that maybe thereβs more to me than being a mediumβ¦that maybe my entire life has been nothing but fabricated memories and lies.
Right as everything is unraveling around me, I meet Ethan. Iβm drawn to him as much as he scares me, as thereβs no denying the darkness hiding in his hazel eyes. He knows more about my powers than I do and can help me, yet I canβt ignore how the timing of our meeting is too perfect for a mere coincidence.
As the demons close in, Iβm forced to make a choice: trust Ethan or face the demons alone. One is certainly more dangerous than the other, and if I donβt choose correctly, it will cost me everythingβ¦including my heart.

I will admit, I knew about the Grim Gate series and had it on a list of books to check out. So when the author offered a chance to review it, I jumped on it and loved it.
If you’ve read the author’s Thorn Hill series, you’ll recognize some places and a few familiar names, since this happens in this same world…but a bit different.Β Anora discovers she’s inherited from a great-aunt she can’t remember and then her world turns upside down with supernatural creatures, magic and a very hot hunter in Ethan.
I loved Anora.Β There were aspects of her that reminded me of Callie, but in a more naive way.Β She’s a protector of those she loves, even if she’s terrified.Β That sense matches perfectly with Ethan.Β He may have wanted to protect Anora, but he was also willing to stand by her side and help her understand who and what she is, rather than keep her in a pretty box.Β It really made them the perfect couple…especially when his hunter family wasn’t always that friendly to her.
The suspense with the demon after Anora was good, keeping me guessing until the end.Β The series was set up nicely with this book and I’m hoping we can some intersection with the Thorne Hill series since it appears Anora should have been part of their group growing up.Β I look forward to more from this series.
