Whatβs the worst thing you could do when youβre stranded in the woods with your rival? Sleep with him. Thatβs what.
Not only is Rowan Whitlock my sisterβs ex, but weβre both vying for the contract that would save my family farm.
So why did it have to be Rowan who came to the rescue after I fell on a remote hiking trail? When the weather turned unexpectedly, we were forced to find shelter and ride out the storm. Only that wasnβt the only thing I ended up riding.
We promise ourselves what happens at the cabin stays at the cabin, but when we get back to Sugarloaf, itβs impossible to stay away from him. Those blue eyes captivate me, his strong body comforts me, and he makes me feel beautiful.
Which is crazy, right?
If only my stupid head would listen and stop this before my heart gets involved, but I keep going back because Iβm already in too deep.
I shouldβve known that the temptation wasnβt worth the risk because when it all falls apart, our promises are broken, and Iβm afraid my heart will never recover.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Rowan Whitlock, but let me tell you π₯π₯π₯
In this installment of the Whitlock series, youngest brother Rowan tangles with next-door neighbor Charlotte and things get hot pretty fast.Β There’s a bit of history between Rowan and Charlotte.Β She has a smidgeon of animosity towards Rowan because she thinks he cheated on her sister Aurora.Β But as they say, there is a fine line between love and hate and these two are almost professional tight-rope walkers.Β But when they finally submit, I’m surprised they didn’t burn down all of Sugarloaf.
I loved Rowan.Β There was a part of me that identified with his sarcasm and loved him all the more for it.Β His interactions with Olivia always left a smile on my face, along with his brothers and sisters.Β But when he was with Charlotte, he went next level.Β Yes, he was bossy (especially behind closed doors), but he always made sure Charlotte know he was supporting her and she could do whatever she put her mind to.
Charlotte on the other hand.Β She was mean and witchy a lot of the time.Β I get it, she was backing her sister, but was her sister really worth that blind loyalty?Β I think my favorite part of the book was on page 133 (I wrote it down) when Charlotte realized she was a witch!Β Half the battle is realizing it, Charlotte, so kudos to you.
As with the other books in this series, it was a great mix of fun times, smexy times with a little bit of angst sprinkled in.Β This was the perfect weekend read.
