Hawkin Play, the bad boy rock star with a good guy heart, has lived a lifetime of cleaning up after his twin brother's mistakes. Hawke agrees to guest lecture at a local college to stay in the judge's good graces-and a bet with his bandmate to seduce his sexy teaching assistant is icing on the cake.Quinlan Westin is harder to bed than Hawke imagined. She knows his type and is determined to avoid the rocker at all costs-even if their attraction runs deeper than simple lust.Just as Hawke might finally be winning over the girl, his brother has other plans. When Hunter realizes his twin finally has a weakness, he'll stop at nothing to take advantage...
Sweet Ache is an extension of the Driven trilogy and we get to dive into Colton’s sister Quinlan. Β Quin Westin is Colton Donovan’s little sister who happens to be a driven young lady. Β She is working hard on an advanced degree and her thesis and she has no time for extracurricular activities of any sort. Β Insert Hawkin ‘Hawke’ Play, lead singer, of the band, Bent. Β He has taken the fall for his brother Hunter and is in a world of trouble. Β Part of his punishment is he must teach a class in college. Β And of course, Quin, has been picked to be his TA. Β Hawke is your typical rocker: tall, dark, extremely handsome, and unfortunately Quin’s fantasy. He can have any woman he wants and he tears through them and is notorious for his behavior.
Quin is a beautiful blonde with endless curves and Hawke is intrigued. Β Quin is turned on by him but is trying to figure out how to be turned off. Β She has been burned in the past and it leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. Β These two go round and round with banter and physical playfulness. Β You know it is only a matter of time. Β They both have secrets…will they share them and actually give a real relationship a try?
We see Riley and Colton which is enjoyable throughout Sweet Ache. Β I enjoyed Sweet Ache but it wasn’t K. Bromberg’s best but that is telling….it is hard to beat the Driven Trilogy or Beck and Haddie’s story. Β She is rounding out the series and filling in gaps. Β I wondered about Quinlan and I am glad we got to meet her. Β She is K. Bromberg’s signature heroine: strong, defiant and resilient. Β Her girls can’t be beat. Β Quin and Hawke’s story is a solid read!
